West Delhi intro. Delhi West is part of the Indian capital's territory, bounded by Central Delhi and North Delhi in the east, North West Delhi in the north, Jhajjar District in the west and South West Delhi in the south. This administrative district is home to nearly 1,750,000 people along with dozens of Delhi West hotels. The three main divisions in Delhi West are Punjabi Bagh, Patel Nagar and Rajouri Garden. Most of the commercial activity takes place in Tilak Nagar and Janakpuri. These colonies offer shopping at markets and malls, dining, entertainment and good Delhi Metro links to other parts of the city, including Connaught Place. This part of the city can be reached within 30 minutes by taxi from Indira Gandhi International Airport. Most visitors to the capital stay in more central areas to the east, but Delhi West can be good for a daytrip to see the non-touristy side of New Delhi.
