Goa, Majorda intro. The beach at Majorda is one of the most popular in the sun and sea holiday state of Goa, and lies within easy access of many of Goa's favourite tourist spots as well as just 18kms from Dabolim Airport. Here, the waters of the Arabian Sea coastline are clear and warm, with white sands backed by palm groves, bars and street food stalls serving the delicious local seafood or the beach's famous fermented coconut palm-sap breads. Water sports include waterskiing, parasailing, swimming, scuba diving, jet-skiing and much more, with Majorda hotels offering equipment hire. Majorda beach is also well-known for its 'shacks', informal bars offering outdoor eateries, perfect for refreshing drinks and a meal while watching one of Goa's stunning sunsets. The village is just a short stroll from the beach, with its pretty houses, small church and interesting handicraft stores. Other superb beaches such as Colva are worth a visit, and Colva village church holds a locally famous image of the baby Jesus, said to have healing powers.
