Kobe Port intro. Kobe is one Japan’s biggest urban districts and is sited on Honshu Island’s southern Osaka Bay. Kobe’s passenger and freight port is on the bayside. The port has regular ferry services from locations that include Tianjin and Shanghai in China, and Busan in South Korea. A varied selection of Kobe hotels is in the district outside the port. Mt Rocco is Kobe’s iconic landmark and is around four kilometres from the port hotels in Kobe. Visitors wishing to gain panoramic views of the city can ride the cable car to the summit. Also on the mount are the Arima Onsen hot springs, which draw numerous visitors with their therapeutic waters and traditional gardens. In the city itself there are live music and entertainment venues in the Mosaic precinct, good shops, Piazza Kobe flea market arcade, Hakutsuru Sake Distillery Museum, Ikuta Shrine and Chinatown, all of which are near the port Kobe hotels.
