Sendai Station intro. The city of Sendai is the capital of Miyagi Prefecture in Japan. Sendai Station in the centre of the city is a major transport hub for this part of Japan, with high-speed train services to Tokyo. There are plenty of excellent Sendai Station hotels conveniently located for visitors with early departures. The area has excellent transport links to Sendai's main attractions. Sendai City Museum has many artefacts related to the Date family which ruled northern Japan in the 16th century. Visitors will be able to learn more about the history of Sendai at the museum. Aoba Castle is just a short walk from the museum and overlooks the city. It was built by a member of the Date family in 1600. It is a magnificent structure and the views overlooking Sendai from here are stunning. There is also a museum inside the castle as well the Gokoku Shrine, which is part of Tokyo's famous Yasukuni Shrine.
