Kansas City (MO), Kansas City Airport - MCI intro. Few American airports can rival the size of Kansas City International Airport, whose Platte County location is actually part of the state of Missouri, 32kms northwest of downtown Kansas City. One of the Kansas Airport hotels is located alongside the vast airport complex, while many more lie just north of the airport along nearby Interstate 29. All three Kansas City International Airport terminals have ring shapes and ATMs, with the terminals having greeted a total of over 10 million guests in 2008. Aside from a few Mexican cities and Toronto, Canada, most of the 50-odd destinations served directly from Kansas City International Airport are other United States cities. The airport introduced free wireless internet service in 2006, and a separate car rental facility is not far away. Terminal A contains a first-aid station and a business centre featuring currency exchanges. Vending machines, a bar with outstanding runway views, postal services and at least 20 eating and shopping locations are also part of the Airport.
