Vejle City Centre hotels map
Vejle, City Centre intro. The city of Vejle may only be the ninth most inhabited in Denmark, with a population of slightly more than 51,000, but its surrounding municipality has over twice as many people, and the East Jutland metropolitan area to which it belongs has a population of well over a million. Vejle City Centre hotels have also been just a few hours from Copenhagen since the 1980 opening of the Vejle Fjord bridge. Both the fjord and the woods which surround it have remained unchanged for centuries. Denmark's largest ravine of Grejsdalen and its longest tunnel valley, Vejle adal, provide converge in this city, built on a hill created during the last significant ice age. A modern pedestrian mall stands above the traditional market road in this major shopping city, whose other prominent landmarks include two churches, St Nicolai and Our Saviour. An intimate theatre and huge greenhouse are located inside the Torvehallerne cultural and conference centre. An art gallery will soon be opened next to the Ecolarium's environmental and natural exhibits.
