Broome, City Centre intro. Broome is one of the most exciting towns in the rural region of Western Australia. It is found in the Kimberly district of northwestern Australia, and sits just off the Great Northern Highway. The town began as a small pearling settlement, but is now a major tourist spot, welcoming many thousands of visitors throughout the peak season. As a result, Broome City Centre hotels become quite busy, so pre-booking a room is recommended. The city is generally quiet, but contains a number of sites that are worth visiting. One attraction includes the Pioneer Cemetery, which houses the graves of those early settlers that established the town. The Broome Boulevard Shopping Centre is also located in the middle of the city. Just behind the heart of the metropolis is the famous Roebuck Bay and Cable Beach. There is an international airport located about one kilometre from the centre, which connects the town to many domestic Australian cities such as Perth and Kununurra.
