Byron Bay, Suffolk Park intro. Situated five kilometres south of Byron Bay, Suffolk Park is a small town which offers a peaceful alternative to its bustling neighbour, yet is within easy reach of all its amenities. Local services centre on Clifford Street, where a small shopping precinct has a pub as well as a number of takeaways and restaurants. Guests staying at Suffolk Park hotels have the chance to try some of the region's best Indian food. Broken Bay Beach is considered to be part of Suffolk Park, situated around two kilometres south of the centre. Broken Head is home to one of the town's most notable landmarks, the uniquely-shaped Cocked Hat Rocks. To the north, Byron Bay Golf Course is a five-minute drive away. There is a small green area to the rear of the fire station called Gaggin Park. It offers convenient access to Tallow Beach, the most extreme surfing area in Byron Bay. The surf breaks on this beach, which is little-known among tourists, are much larger than at other Byron Bay beaches. Yet most tourists prefer to relax on Byron Main.
