Camiguin hotels map
Camiguin intro. A small island province in the Philippines, Camiguin sits in the Bohol Sea, just 10kms north of Mindanao. Visited by relatively few tourists, the island is an excellent destination for those seeking something off the beaten path. Many hotels in Camiguin are aimed at guests seeking to commune with nature, and offer anything from tree houses to dive resorts. The island's distinctive mountainous silhouette, which rises impressively out of the sea, results from the old volcano that created the land mass along with four smaller volcanoes. Hibok-Hibok volcano is active. The island is home to several hot springs, the best-known being Ardent Hot Spring and Tangub Hot Spring. For a cool dip, head for the stunning Katibawasan Falls, Tuasan Falls or Bura Natural Soda Water Swimming Pool. The falls, especially Tuasan, also offer the opportunity to take in some truly scenic hiking. Snorkelling and diving are popular, especially at nearby Bohol Island. In addition to the forests, mountains and stunning beaches, the island is also home to fading bits of history, like the ruins of Old Catarman Church and Sunken Cemetery. Many beautiful old homes can be spotted along local roads.
