Sorsogon hotels map
Sorsogon intro. Located at the southernmost end of Luzon Province, Sorsogon sits on the Bicol Peninsula, across the San Bernardino Strait from Samar Island. For visitors, the province is often considered one big eco-tour destination. One of the most spectacular destinations is Bulusan Natural Park, a national reserve containing lakes, rivers, waterfalls, natural springs and dense forests, all surrounding the volcanic Mount Bulusan. Another big draw is the opportunity to swim with the world's largest fish at the mouth of the Donsol River, where huge whale sharks gather late in each year. Stunning beaches are easily found along almost anywhere on the coastline. Popular spots within reach of most hotels in Sorsogon include Rizal Beach, Tolong-Gapo and Libanon Beach. Hot and cold springs are also plentiful. Some of the more popular include Mateo Springs, Mapaso Spring and Masacrot Springs. Visitors keen on island-hopping have plenty of options, too, with Calintaan, Tikling, Subic and Juag, all of which are near Matnog, being particularly popular. Major highways, including the AH26, make travel by road relatively easy. The closest major airport is at Legazpi, which is just over the provincial border to the north, in Albay.
