Monywa hotels map
Monywa intro. Monywa hotels line the banks of the Chindwin River, the leisurley waterway that winds its sleepy way through the town of Monywa, which is several hours by train north of Mandalay, the famous Burmese historical city. Many visitors travel to Monywa as a spill off from their visit to Mandalay. Many hotels in Monywa are justifiably proud of the religious and architectural heritage that Monywa can call its own. The Giant Standing Buddha, for example, is a very impressive monument as is the Giant Reclining Buddha. Various Chinese and even some Japanese shrines dot the town too. No visitor to Monywa should feel that they are simply waiting to return to Mandalay or elsewhere in the country. Monywa hotels are diverse and eclectic and visitors really can choose what they would like to spend and also, what sort of conveniences and luxuries they require. Some prefer basic accommodations and for these visitors, the simple rooms at the monasteries are probably ideal.
