Gampaha hotels map
Gampaha intro. Situated in the west of Sri Lanka, the charming city of Gampaha is a popular destination among travellers who are following the tourist trail as it lies on the Colombo to Kandy road and on the main railway line from Colombo Fort - less than an hour's journey. Many people travel here by bus, and the main bus station can be found just to the west of the city centre. A number of leading Gampaha hotels are located conveniently close to the bus station along with a selection of shops and restaurants. When it comes to attractions, the city has a lot to offer visitors, and wandering through the large and lovely Henarathgoda Botanical Gardens, home of the first rubber tree to be planted in Sri Lanka, is a great way to relax and unwind, while one of the most famous landmarks is the unusual volleyball statue that is located in the heart of the city, which has also been famous as a centre for the study of Ayurveda traditional medicine.
