Kumamoto hotels map
Kumamoto intro. Kumamoto is the capital city of Kumamoto Prefecture, boasting a moderately large population of about 1.5 million residents. The city is located on the western coast of Kyushu, one of the four main islands of the Japanese archipelago. There are a number of hotels in Kumamoto that provide an ideal rejuvenation base for travel-weary visitors. Nevertheless, travellers won’t want to stay in their Kumamoto hotels for too long, with the city featuring several intriguing attractions. Most hotels in Kumamoto are located in the central district of the city, including places like Kumamotojomae, Kuhonji, Yamasakimachi, and Nichikarashimachi, which are all linked via the convenient train system in Kumamoto. The city is blessed with a number of beautiful sightseeing landmarks that should not be missed. Kumamoto Castle is one of the most fortified and interesting castles in Japan, but has undergone numerous restructuring projects over the last few decades. Also on offer in the city include the Hosokawa Gyobu-tei, a traditional mansion made of wood on the outer fringes of the castle, and Japan’s famous Suizen-ji, a spectacular Japanese garden 3kms from the castle walls.
