Metairie hotels map
Metairie intro. Metairie is located close to New Orleans and hotels in Metairie which are commonly used by holidaymakers who want to explore its large neighbouring city. Accommodation in the district is far cheaper than New Orleans and the town itself is pleasant to stay in and makes for a nice change of the hustle and bustle found in New Orleans. I-10 runs close by making it readily accessible to tourists and the establishments found close to the road are the cheapest options while the plusher accommodations can be found in the centre of the action. Hurricane Katrina hit the town hard but as with much of the area it has successfully rebuilt its streets with a few new lodgings now available. Shopping can be enjoyed here but many visitors will choose to drive to New Orleans to do some serious shopping. The restaurants are also worth trying, as there is a good mixture of cuisines on offer with Cajun proving most popular.
