Menominee intro. Menominee is a small city in Michigan, on the shores of Green Bay. Most tourists to the city tend to congregate in First Street Historic District, situated on the waterfront. Most of the buildings that were built here at the turn of the 19th century have now been restored, leading to an entry in the National Register of Historic Places. Nowadays, visitors enjoy sampling cuisine at its upmarket restaurants as well as browsing the many gift and antique shops and bookstores. There are also a number of day spas for those in need of a little pampering. Guests can learn more about the city's fishing industry at the West Shore Fishing Museum. This museum is situated to the south of the historic district, on Harbour Lane. Great Lakes Memorial Marina Park is also located in the city and is home to the Menominee Bandshell. Shows, concerts and festivals take place here throughout the year, meaning that Menominee hotels can be busier than usual at these times. Travellers can get here by taking the US 41 from Escanaba or the city of Green Bay. The M-35, which follows the bay's shoreline, is a much more scenic route from Escanaba.
