Rutland hotels map
Rutland intro. Rutland is a sizeable central Vermont town with plenty of Rutland hotels and nearby sights. In fact it is the state's second largest city and has that quintessential look of a large New England town, with a thick spread of foliage in the surrounds and access to the Green Mountains and many ski areas. The town is served by major routes, around four hours from New York, and is also served by Amtrak trains and Greyhound buses. The downtown area is easy to navigate on foot and has a whole load of abodes on the National Register of Historic Places. There is also known for the annual Vermont State Fair on South Main Street where there are numerous lodgings. There are also several class restaurants nearby including the popular Little Harry's. The best selection of the properties is naturally along Main Street, while Charlestown Road and Route 4 East are also good.
