Morgantown hotels map
Morgantown intro. Morgantown is near the Pennsylvania border up in the north of West Virginia and is a county seat town of the aptly named Monongalia County. Locally known as the Number 1 Small City in America, it is in fact a substantial, sprawling backwater with its own airport, direct interstate access, and many Morgantown hotels. The West Virginia University is a major institution in the town and its students give the place a certain vibe in the form of cafes, bars and clubs. There are several attractions close to downtown accommodations, including the Core Arboretum on Monongahela Boulevard and nearby Dorsey's Knob, which offers fine views over the boundary. The properties come in all varieties and price ranges and can be found on High Street, Spruce Street, and Scott Avenue, as well as within the stunning Wharf District. The nearby Prickett's Fort State Park is well within reach of the lodgings and is worth a jaunt.
