Dixon hotels map
Dixon intro. The small American town of Dixon is just over 100 miles to the west of downtown Chicago and is located alongside the beautiful Rock River. There are many hotels in Dixon to choose from in this delightful town. Many lodgings are located close to the riverfront. Many activities in the area take place around the river such as boating and fishing. For those in stay in the quarter during Dixon Petunia Festival which takes place during the week of 4th of July, there is a spectacular fireworks display over the river and many events take place along the riverfront. Check with the visitor centre for more information. These properties get very busy at this time, so be sure to book accommodation in advance. There are 25 parks around the precinct offering hiking and biking trails including Lowell Park where former US President and Actor Ronald Regan served as a lifeguard for seven seasons.
