Kingsville intro. There are many ranches in the state of Texas, but the King Ranch is the oldest of all and is just one among many attractions in the south Texas city of Kingsville. The King Ranch was originally established in 1853, and remains a working ranch with more than 300 horses and 60,000 cattle where guided daily tours are available. Not only are there 11 hotels in Kingsville, the city also contains five upscale lodges which are among the best quality the district, several RV parks and campgrounds, and a lovely bed and breakfast establishment overlooking Baffin Bay inside a former schoolhouse and church from the 1950s. Bird watching is one of the most popular activities among the many visitors staying in the establishments because more than 450 bird species can be found throughout the area. The train depot which welcomed Kingsville's first train in 1904 has been converted to the 1904 Railroad Museum, and is just one of many carefully renovated buildings in the historic district of downtown area.
