Temple intro. Temple’s positioning between Dallas Fort Worth and Austin San Antonio makes it a popular place to take a break while on a tour of central Texas. Temple hotels come in all categories and price ranges, from bed and breakfasts to classy, full service hotels. The town itself is a typical Blackland Prairie town and comes with an equal supply of eateries, antiques outlets, and Temple hotels. There are also one or two attractions of note in the town, such as the Czech Heritage Museum on Main Street and the historic town square. The 2nd Street Emporium has some decent shopping, while Temple Mall also has some great eating. Look to Scott Boulevard, Nugent Avenue, or West Loop 121 for Temple hotels, while plenty of interesting sights reside around the town. Lake Belton is off to the west and has all kinds of areas set aside for recreation on its south and northern banks.
