Key Largo intro. Key Largo is an island located in the upper archipelago of the Florida Keys. It is the biggest island of the Florida Keys and is 33 miles long. There is the most northern point of the Keys that is connected to U.S. Highway 1 via the Overseas Highway. It is easy to reach Key Largo from the mainland in Miami-Dade County with two routes starting at Florida City. The district is a popular destination for tourists. Scuba divers from all over come to the island to visit the living coral reef offshore by just a few miles. Sport fishing is also popular here. Hotels in Key Largo provide lovely accommodation to enjoy during your stay. The establishments are convenient for ecotourists and kayakers to stay at when visiting the Everglades that are close by. The city is west of the first underwater park in the US, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The properties can be found all over the island except the gated community of Ocean Reef Club.
