Albany intro. Known as 'the Good Life City' and situated in southwestern Georgia, the community of Albany was named after its counterpart in New York State and is filled with interesting attractions and affordable hotels in this city. Most Albany hotels are either chains which can be easily recognisable throughout the world or independently operated and owned economy motels. Many hotels also supply suites which may be rented and which provide their guests with kitchenettes and other features. Most accommodations are also a very reasonable distance from the Albany Welcome Center which recently opened inside the city's historic Bridge House. The city is also home to southwest Georgia's only art museum at the Albany Museum of Art, southwest Georgia's only publicly accessible planetarium at the Thronateeska Heritage Center and Wetherbee Planetarium, one of the world's only open air aquariums at the Flint RiverQuarium and Imagination Theatre, and the relaxing Ray Charles Plaza where visitors may sit on benches designed like keys on a piano while Ray Charles' music plays in the background.
