Calhoun intro. Situated in Gordon County, Georgia, the town of Calhoun is a rural community boasting an ever-increasing population, which currently about 15,000 residents. Historically, Calhoun was a significant piece of Cherokee Native Indian land, but with the arrival of the US Army, natives were forced to move west. Nevertheless, the area exudes several museums and places of interest that exhibit the Cherokee culture. Hotels in Calhoun can be found across the town, but primarily along Interstate 75, known as the Larry McDonald Memorial Highway throughout the region. Most establishments provide basic accommodation, but still offer the required necessities for a restful stay. Because the town is relatively small in size, the buildings are located close to most of the city's attractions.
