Worksop intro. The north of England is home to the large town of Worksop in the county of Nottinghamshire; a wonderful town for a quiet break. The town sits very close to Sherwood Forest, which is one of the main attractions. Sherwood Forest is a great location for a range of outdoor activities including biking, walking, hiking and camping. Worksop hotels are located mainly in the town centre close to excellent amenities and transport options. There are buses which run around the town and past famous sights such as Clumber Park, the Acorn Theatre and Mr Straw's House, which is a famous National Trust house. The town has excellent transport links via its busy rail station, with trains to the south and the north, as well as the M1 motorway, which connects to Sheffield, the nearest big city. Worksop Priory, a Church of England church, began as an Augustinian priory in the 12th century, and visitors are welcome to join the daily serviced held here.
