Milford Haven intro. Milford Haven is a town in the county of Pembrokeshire, in southwest Wales. This quaint port town was founded in the 18th century and has a population of 14,000 people, although this number increases dramatically during the summer. The town boasts several idyllic beaches and walking trails. Popular activities in the area include boating, fishing and golfing. The town centre by the quayside has a number of restaurants, cafes and nice little shops, while near the quay area are the fascinating Dockside Gallery and Town Museum. The gallery shows off some of the area's finest displays of art and craft, while the museum provides an intriguing insight into the town's whaling history. The town's marina is well worth taking a stroll around as it is home to some of the UK's finest leisure boating. Milford Haven has many other draws such as pleasure boat trips, a nature trail and a nine-hole golf course. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path winds a path through the town en route from Wear Point to South Hook Point. The town is an extremely popular tourist resort and therefore Milford Haven hotels are easy to come by and cater for visitors on all kinds of budgets.
