Pozzallo intro. The commune of Pozzallo is found in the southeastern corner of the Italian island of Sicily. It is home to about 1,300 people, and sits within the province of Ragusa. The town is a major port for the island of Sicily, as it offer high-speed catamaran services between Sicily and Malta in the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, many of the thousands of visitors that find themselves in the town of Pozzallo only stay for a night or two before moving to other towns on the island of Sicily. However, with plenty of Pozzallo hotels available, and a selection of fine attractions for tourists to enjoy, the town is a popular seaside holiday destination in its own right. The beaches are one of the most visited parts of the town. They have been awarded Blue Flag status, which means they are clean and swimable. Another of the famous landmarks in the town is the Cabrera Tower which overlooks the town's port area.
