Ras Al Khaimah intro. Ras Al Khaimah is a small emirate in the very north of the UAE, which abuts the nation's border with Oman. The emirate is sandwiched between the Persian Gulf and the stately Hajar Mountains. The region and its central town offer visitors miles of unspoilt coastline and sandy beaches, and several cultural and historic sites. In the town centre, the Manar Mall is among the top venues for shopping. There are a number of choices for dining here, including an ambient, floating restaurant. Ras Al Khaimah hotels are mostly situated close to the centre and this proximity allows tourists to walk to attractions such as the former palace, which houses the National Museum, and the waterfront. Dhayah Fort is on the north side of town. The hot springs at Khatt and a camel racing track are on either side of the city airport. The Iceland Water Park is a recent addition to the emirate's attractions and provides visitors with exciting water-slides, the Rocky Polar Mountains and a wave pool.
