Nuku Hiva intro. Nuku Hiva is an island in French Polynesia. It is the second largest of a group of islands known as the Marquesas and has a varied and intriguing coastline. With its beautiful and varied coastline, the island is extremely popular amongst tourists and holiday makers alike. While the western and eastern sides of the island are sparsely populated without any major hotels in Nuku Hiva, the northern and southern sides of the island, however, have many more bays deep bays providing access to the sea.
