Beqa Island hotels map
Beqa Island intro. One of the most famous diving destinations in all of Fiji, Beqa Island lies 13kms off the southern coast of Vitu Levu and north of Kadavu. Like much of the country, the main industry here is tourism, and there are a handful of Beqa Island hotels to choose from which cater for both well-heeled holidaymakers and backpackers. Like on the majority, if not all of the islands in Fiji, tourism is based almost solely around beach life and water sports. Diving facilities are excellent and cater for everyone from beginners to experts, while certified training is provided. There are some shipwrecks in the area, while for those with a strong sense of adventure, the shark diving spots in the area are widely considered among the world's best. Closer to shore, the reef around the island is made up of beautifully coloured coral and is home to hundreds of marine species, making it ideal for snorkellers. If you're not a water sports enthusiast, you can take comfort in the fact that there are beautiful beaches to laze on while watching the world go by.
