Penticton intro. Penticton is a city sited between two lakes, Okanagan and Skaha, in the southwest Canadian province of British Columbia. It is only 50 km north of the Canada-US border and is offers stunning scenery, outdoor activities and beaches. There are plentiful Penticton hotels offering service to the city's visitors. The establishments are located on both of the city's lakeshores with the biggest cluster on Lakeshore Drive West. This road runs around the south shore of Lake Okanagan. Penticton Museum, shops and an eclectic choice of eateries are within walking range of the properties on Okanagan's shore. This shore features amusements, take away food stands and a marina. Beaches in this area offer safe swimming, canoeing, paddle boating and windsurfing. Lake cruises depart from the harbour and offer a chance of seeing Okanagan's fabled monster, Ogopogo. Peachtree Square is the hub of speciality shops and boutiques. The region environs boast 25 wineries, hiking trails and golf courses.
