One of the best is the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, which is situated just 10 miles outside of Bloomington. Its network of marshlands and lakes combined with forests make it an excellent bird watching location, and is home to a number of nesting Bald Eagles. The park is a great favourite of photographers and hunters can also part take in their pastime, during the shooting season.

The gardens were opened in 1988 and were constructed and designed around the much earlier gardens of the Kenwood Armoury, that previously stood on this site.

Taking just 4 years to build the main building, but a further 14 years to complete all, the beautiful Minneapolis City Hall with its imposing granite clock tower is just over 23 feet and at the time of being built was claimed to be the tallest in the world. It stands in the centre of the city, and can be seen for miles. The interior of the building was filled with marble and intricate staircases, although some of this has gone to make way for more offices.

Take a quiet walk with the family along the many wildlife trails in the Clifton E French Regional Park in Plymouth and you will be amazed at what you may find. There are wild deer all around as well as numerous other wildlife hidden amongst the trees and srubs. There is a great little beach to relax, with volleyball nets for the more enthusiastic and energetic. The park is also a popular spot for local fishermen, and the trees create a stunning colour backdrop during the fall.

Take a tour of the building and look out for the Lady Minnesota Sculpture, high up, overlooking the House of Representatives.
