Things to do in Kenya
Mombasa - visit the Nairobi National Museum
The Nairobi Museum provides a comprehensive history of the country and the region right back to prehistoric times. Everywhere you look there is something of interest, even the floor which has fossilized footprints in it that are believed to be from the start of human civilization. The museum has a good collection of fossils as well as ancient artifacts and a very comprehensive collection of over 600 birds. There is also a very interesting collection of native Kenyan traditional paintings and ornamentation.
Nairobi - see wild animals at Nairobi National Park
Created in 1945 the Nairobi National Park is the oldest of its kind in Kenya and houses all of the exotic animals you would expect to find in Africa. Take a tour of the park and get up close to lions, elephants, zebra and giraffes. The nearly extinct Black Rhino can also be found in the park, one of the few places in Africa where it can be seen easily.
Introduction of Kenya
There is plenty of choice in the market if you are looking for hotels in Kenya. The east African country is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the continent, with its scenic Indian Ocean coast and its borders with Somalia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan and Uganda. For those looking for Kenya accommodations, Nairobi city is a safe bet. There is everything here from campsites for those travelling on a shoe-string to five-star luxury housings for those who aren't counting the pennies. There are also a number of nice guesthouses for those looking for mid-range establishments. Unsurprisingly, coastal Kenya is also a hotspot for accommodation options. The cities of Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi all have numerous options available at varying prices. If you are staying in the lodging that is not particularly secure, be sure to ask for a mosquito net before you agree on a price.
