Pamplemousses - wander around the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden
The gardens at Pamplemousses were created by the former French Governor, over 300 years ago, using plants from the local region as well as from other parts of the world. The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens as they are known, host beautiful examples of palm trees and Queen Victoria Lilies, some of which look large enough to stand on. Whilst relaxing in one of the many gazebos that are located in the gardens, keep your eyes open for the shy Java deer that also roam the grounds.
