Daydream Island Beach hotels map
Daydream Island, Beach intro. Australia's tiny and appropriately named Daydream Island is sometimes compared to Waikiki Beach because of its turquoise waters and tropical weather. Another thing these two island paradises share in common is their latitude; it is the same distance north from Daydream Island to the equator as it is south of it to Waikiki Beach. Daydream Island Beach hotels are dominated by one major resort, offering a plethora of activities and opportunities to explore one of the few inhabited Whitsunday Islands. More than 50 kinds of coral and 40 types of fish are found beneath the surface of Sunlovers Beach, just one of the three major coves on the island. Mermaids Beach and the private sheltered inlet of Lovers Cove are both white coral beaches and popular wedding locations. Parrots and other colourful birds fly above the lush tropical jungle in the middle of this kilometer-long island. No manmade reef lagoon on Earth is larger than this island's living reef, home to over 50 types of coral and 80 fish species.
