Long Island Beach hotels map
Long Island, Beach intro. Long Island is widely considered among the most beautiful and naturally endowed of all the Whitsunday Islands, and was given its name due to the fact that it is nine kilometres in length compared to just 400 metres (at its widest point) in width. The island is a national park and boasts 20kms of walking trails which lead to the stunningly-beautiful tropical beaches. Lying on the sand gives baskers a true feeling of paradise. With only ocean and islands and dense bush area in the distance, visitors could easily get the feeling of being in a faraway land. Long Island is perfect for reading a book in the palm tree-shaded areas, topping up the tan on the white coral sand, or partaking in activities such as waterskiing and scuba diving. There are three Long Island Beach hotels which offer the luxurious facilities that the island deserves. Happy Bay and Palm Bay are popular spots among people on yachts visiting the island, while Paradise Bay is as the name suggests; unfortunately, however, day visitors are not permitted to access it as it's for resort guests only. Boat cruises around the island enable visitors to see dolphins and turtles among other wildlife.
