Nhill hotels map
Nhill intro. Situated on the A8, halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide, Nhill is a convenient stopping place for anyone travelling between these two cities. In addition, the Overland train service stops here three times a week. Visitors can choose from a handful of Nhill hotels which can get busy during the mid-February Duck and Jazz Festival. The second Thursday in October is a good time to visit, when the Nhill Show takes place. During this event, visitors can enjoy fairground rides, horseback riding shows and photography contests. The town has its own golf course, situated around one kilometre north of the town centre, while outdoors enthusiasts will appreciate the Little Desert National Park. The outskirts of this large park are just 15kms south of the town centre. The park offers plenty of opportunities to take part in four-wheel drive tours, bird-watching expeditions and bushwalks. To the north of the town, Lake Hindmarsh provides more water-based recreation as well as easy access to the neighbouring Birdcage Nature Reserve.
